In 1971, Nikel Pallat, drummer of german band Ton Steine Scherben, was invited to discuss the position of german pop music on national tv.
He was invited as spokesman for the fundamentalist block of polit rock, Ton Steine Scherben being a band that self produced its records, avoided the charts and regarded any music with profit in mind as worthless.
Deciding that time had come to take sides he destroyed the studio table and stole the microphones.
