Azis and the amazing art of connecting things.

Bulgarian singer Azis was elected 21st in the The Greatest Bulgarians TV-show. In comparison, in the American version of this show, Muhammed Ali came in 21st. If you ever wondered what a former heavyweight champion of the world and vocal critic of the Vietnam War has in common with a Bulgarian singer who recently became a father to a daughter conceived via artificial insemination, here's your answer.

In 1971, Nikel Pallat, drummer of german band Ton Steine Scherben, was invited to discuss the position of german pop music on national tv.
He was invited as spokesman for the fundamentalist block of polit rock, Ton Steine Scherben being a band that self produced its records, avoided the charts and regarded any music with profit in mind as worthless.
Deciding that time had come to take sides he destroyed the studio table and stole the microphones.

Cyprien Gaillard • deconstructing

Last weekend i saw a very nice show by French artist Cyprien Gaillard at Spruth Magers gallery in Berlin. His work in general deals with deconstructing modernistic architecture and the failure of utopian ideals that those structures are based on.
